TRAIN SERVICE STILL SUSPENDED IN NIGERIA
Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has revealed that the national train service is still suspended because there are concerns that passengers will not obey all protocols that are being developed.
Speaking to the media, NRC Managing Director, Mr. Fidet Okhiria said it is easy to comply with the protocols in air travel and road transport systems, however, it may not be so easy with the railways. That is why we really have to be careful before we have a situation on our hands.
He also noted that, the necessary safety protocols and items, including provision of infrared thermometers for temperature testing, hand sanitizers, and the enforcement of compulsory wearing of face masks at the stations will be implemented.
Mr Okhiria said no date has been fix yet because the agency is waiting for final approval from the Presidential Task Force (PTF) before it can commence operation.
Most Train rides in Africa are scary and unorganised, hence, the safety concern.
